Domiciliary Care
Domiciliary Care
Domiciliary care is where a carer provides care and support based on your needs in your own home or care home. A home carer will usually provide help with personal care such as helping you wash and dress, continence care, medication support, nutrition and hydration needs, companionship and respite care.
Domiciliary care can be cheaper than a care home, especially if you are a couple and you both require care in the home. For a detailed idea of costs, it is a good idea to talk to one of our team members. They will be able to give you a clear idea of costs based on your specific needs.
You may be able to get help from the Social services or Continuing Health Care towards the cost of your care needs. You will need to contact them and complete their assessments.
Domiciliary care does not need to be a long-term arrangement. It can be short term to provide respite care. It can also be for the period of recovery following a medical emergency, such as a stroke.
Specialist care for dementia and other mental health conditions are available in the home from many care providers. Ask about these services when you first enquire with us to ensure we can offer you what you need.
You are likely to have more than one carer as they work in shifts, this enables them to have adequate time off and time in their own homes.
You will, of course, have a say in the carer who cares for you. We will ensure that there is a rapport between the clients and carers, if there are any problems at all we will be contactable and work with you to resolve issues or replace the carer.
The first step is to determine the type of care that you need. We then recommend you speak to one of our team to see if we cover your area and to get a better idea about your options.
We offer a domestic package where we can complete cleaning tasks around the home. We can also support you with weekly shopping, to make the list and accompany you or go on your behalf to the shops.
Yes, we can support you to go to appointments and go out on planned outing. This is something that you can discuss with a member of our team.
